The taste of mint and lime combined with rum is distinctive. Enjoy mojito outside summer too. Have mojito days over the holidays too.

Mojito has been popular for over 500 years

Enjoyed by Hemingway, Pablo Neruda, and Fidel Castro. But James Bond made it into a worldwide hit!

Did you know…?

Mojito is one of the five lowest-calories cocktails. It has about 252 calories, and even less if you exclude sugar.

Fried meat, confectionary, mulled wine and sweet liqueurs - classics of the long and cold winter months. How about lightening your diet also retaining the pleasure? Try homemade mojito ice cream or a winter mojito cocktail.

Homemade mojito ice cream: Low calorie, great taste

And you've probably tried it since then. Maybe on a hot summer day on a terrace or somewhere on a beach. But even in lower temperatures, you can still enjoy mojito. Just differently. Remember mojito as you ponder the next dessert. There gingerbread, here cinnamon rolls. You can satisfy your taste buds in other ways. Jam tarts, bear paws, and coconut balls alone have over 500 calories. Widely-available mojito ice creams have up to 100 calories per 100 ml. You can also make ice cream at home. Try a refreshing low-calorie recipe for mojito sorbet.

Mix water, sugar, and mint in a pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves, then bring it to boil. Reduce temperature and cook for 4 more minutes. Take out the mint leaves and let the mixture cool. Add lime juice and peel, sparkling water and rum into a bowl and mix well. Pop the mixture into a freezer overnight. Allow the Mojito sorbet to soften a little before serving.
